Three LADC-GEMM researchers have won an award from an international scientific association for creation of a mathematical model that estimates the rate at which a wildlife population recovers from a disaster or other environmental disturbance. Dr. Azmy Ackleh, Dr. Ross Chiquet and Dr. Amy Veprauskas received the Rollie Lamberson Research Award from the Resource Modeling Association in May 2019. They were authors, along with two other researchers, of “Sensitivity analysis of the recovery time for a population under the impact of an environmental disturbance,” published in the journal Natural Resource Modeling.
